Its completely and totally ineffective for me. Maybe its the size (medium) It just doe not open up the passages.
What I would suggest is for a first time buyer, send all 3 sizes so it can be tried.
Not sure if that will make a difference for me, but at least I would have had the satisfaction of knowing it truly does not work for me, or maybe the larger size may have made a huge difference.
Now I’ll never know, because I am most definitely not going to order the larger size.

I had surgery for a deviated septum approximately 25 years ago which helped my nasal breathing to a degree, but I still had partial constriction in my left nostril. I discovered Max Air Nose Cones on line and using their on-line measuring instructions I purchased the medium size nose cones. I was totally amazed at how comfortable they were, how well they fit, and how effective they were, breathing through my nostrils at night is now effortless. Also was surprised that after removing them in the morning I had very little to no mucus build up and or discharge which I previously always woke up with. My only wish would be that I could permanently install the Nose Cones and wear them all day long. As a side note: Even though I have nasal constriction only in my left nostril, I insert the cones while hooked up together into both nostrils.

I cut the connector to get more depth, but the improvement in breathing through the clogged nostril was barely noticeable. I hope it works better for others.

They are soft and fit well. However, my nose can still be blocked due to sinuses, and I need to take them out, blow my nose and reinsert. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. The nose cones can easily fall out if you move around too much in bed, either by the blanket or if you accidentally touch your nose. I think it’s a good design and it should work under normal circumstances but my sinuses are a bit severe so it wasn’t working 100%. (I have deviated septum). Good product to try

I am a new user of the nasal dialators and an oral appliance for snoring issues. I switch back and forth between Max-Air Nose Cones and the Mute brand. So far the Max-Air Nose Cones are winning because they are more comfortable. I am aware of the sound of my outward breathing with the Nose Cones which doesn’t occur with the Mutes but I have decided I will get used to it with the Nose Cones. I use Snore Lab app which monitors all night and there is definitely improvement and my husband says it is now tolerable to sleep with me. Hope this helps, good luck!

My husband had Moh’s surgery on his nose and his right nostril would not open fully after the surgery healed. He heard about your Nose Cones and so I ordered some. He has claustrophobia so he cannot use it continually, but it does help him be able to breathe more normally. So thankful for your product. Only drawback was having 2 connected. He had to cut them apart and leave enough lead to be able to keep from getting the Nose Cone stuck in his nostril.

I have been wearing Max Air Nose Cones for 10 years. I use them for anatomical nasal obstruction that contributes to snoring. They work wonderfully. I really can’t imagine sleeping without them ever. The cones improve air flow when I put them on, BUT they slip out of my nose every night. I separated them, same problem. My dog chewed up one last night!
I am very hesitant to try the larger size, because the medium fit all the way in my nostrils and are already slightly uncomfortable. I am even more hesitant to try the sinus cones because they are stiffer.

I am an ear, nose and throat physician and I have recommended the Nose Cones or Sinus Cones for my patients with any combination of weak nasal valves, deviated nasal septum and enlarged turbinates. They often save these patients from having nasal surgery to correct their obstruction. I also use them myself. They are comfortable, stay in place all night and allow me to sleep more soundly. I highly recommend them over such products as external nasal strips.

I HIGHLY recommend these for anyone with nasal obstruction!! A plastic surgeon suggested I try these after informing me that correcting my deviated septum would require a 5-6 hour open surgery including using cartilage from my rib and a skin graft – NOT what I was prepared to hear! Very disappointed with customer support. It appears that this is a small company with limited staff, but not to return calls at all is not acceptable. I was about to send my product back to exchange it for a larger size when I read the fine print on the warrantee stating that the warrantee must be exercised within thirty days. Having tried nasal strips and suchlike I discovered Max-Air Nose Cones. I have used the small size for a number of years now, (for a deviated septum on one nostril only) and they work great.
I live in NZ so can only get them from either the USA or Australia. In terms of delivery, the US is better than OZ because the last time I got them from OZ I had to get them sent to a friend there to forward them on to me. However, the cost is about the same.

The increase in airflow is immediately noticeable after inserting the Nose Cones. It took a few tries to find a way to insert them that would keep them in all night. They haven’t completely eliminated stuffiness or morning dry mouth. When a nostril gets stuffy I generally take out the Cones for the remainder of the night. Overall, they’re a help and worth the price.

Very good product and shipment time was great. I, however, returned them because my nasal blockage was further into my sinus than the Nose Cones reached. At first I had a little difficulty getting them to stay in, because I use a full-face CPAP mask. After working with them a little, I was able to get them to stay in. Just didn’t work for me.

I was anxious to try the Max-Air Nose Cones as a last resort as I consistently snore myself awake at night. The product is well made and was easily accomodated. Customer service was superlative. Unfortunately for me personally my issue was not resolvable with the Air Cones as previous reconstructive nasal surgery (7 years ago) has resulted in collapsed upper turbinates which the Air Cones will not sufficiently reach far enough to open. They were definitely worth a try,though.

The medium size Nose Cones worked really well to minimize sleep apnea symptoms. I went from 2 hrs of sleep at night to 5-6 hrs, on the very first night that I started using the Cones. I am a completely changed sleeper due to the Max-air nose cones!! My wife told me I would gasp and she would think I had stopped breathing at times. My bed time ritual was to apply breath rights, spray with prescription Nasonex, spray with saline solution and then Vicks up. I would still wake up one or two times a night and have to pee thinking it was a prostrate issue. After less than a week I stopped the breath rights, prescription Nasonex and stopped the gasping for air, after 2 weeks I stopped the saline spray and Vicks and now after 3 weeks I sleep through the night 8 to 8-1/2 hours without waking up and having to go pee. These are working well for me. Next time I order, I will try Large first. Measurement tool said I am a medium and they seem fine, but if I put them all the way in I seem to get a little irritation, so I leave them somewhat protruding. Seems to work fine but I wonder if large wouldn’t work better.
Sizing aside, I’m glad I purchased these. I have a deviated septum and the discomfort is borderline. Usually I have decent airflow but I do have some snoring. What I’ve found since I started using these is no snoring (knock on wood) and definitely my nose feels much more clear in the morning, no period of waiting for one nostril to clear up. When I think about how much clearer I’m breathing in the mornings after using these, I have to believe I am getting much better sleep through the night.
If you have a deviated septum and haven’t tried a solution like this yet, try this out. They’re very easy to keep clean, fairly comfortable, and definitely provide better airflow.

Based on your feedback that one side slips out, it sounds as though you have a deviated septum. A deviated septum means that one airway is a different size or angle than the other.
To solve a problem with a deviated septum, we recommend 1) separating the Cones and fitting them individually. Fitting them individually allows your to insert and adjust each Cones to just the right angle for each airway, so that they “seat” correctly. If you try this and one Cone continues to dislodge we suggest trying the Sinus Cones, instead. The Sinus Cones are slightly firmer and so fit like a half size larger, which usually solves the problem.

I bought and tried these based on my otolaryngologist’s recommendation as a possible solution to snoring, mild sleep apnea, and more generally to help with breathing at night. They worked a charm the first night (much to my wife’s delight), but less well on subsequent tries. I suffer from a deviated septum on both sides of my nose.
My left nostril always seemed narrower than my right.
Recently, I was diagnosed with severe valve collapse.
It affected my left nostril to the point that when I inhaled, that side closed completely and no air got in. My right nostril is also restricted, so I’m something of a ‘mouth breather’ (ugh!)
I finally saw an ENT and he recommended these nasal cones, but he said I needed the Large size (he didn’t have the thumb guide size chart).
Thankfully, after receiving the Large I ordered, I was able to exchange them for Medium in white (with outside clips) and in clear (since you get 2 sets with clear, I trimmed one pair and left the center piece on the 2nd pair).
I even sent away for another set of white in the Small size since I fall just past the Small on the thumb guide size chart.
Ever since the 1st night, I’ve felt such relief and I wear them as often as possible, not just for sleep!
I was and am SO glad I don’t have to undergo surgery to fix this condition… I LOVE this product!

The cones do permit additional breathing ability but not by that much…. nasal passages that are really “stuffed” are not relieved, but the cones allow additional breathing in the other nostril with that cone in place… still happy with purchase…. every little bit of inhaled air helps !!!

When my doctor told me that my deviated septum was somehow blocking both sides of my nose (!), I did some research online about surgical treatment, and I came upon a couple of articles about nose cones, both of which mentioned Max-Air as an especially good brand. I was a bit doubtful, but willing to try. And I have to say, those funny little cones have made a world of difference! I really feel like there’s a lot more air coming in when I inhale, and I love it. I expected to have trouble getting used to them, but in fact, after the first 5 minutes, I forgot I had them in. The other day at breakfast, my husband gently pointed out that I still hadn’t taken them out! When I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea, I decided to look into a dental appliance instead of CPAP machine, since I’m already compliant with a nightguard. During my fitting, the sleep dentist recommended that I also use the Max-Air Nose Cones as part of the program, and he sized me for them. While I’m waiting for the dental appliance (takes 2-3 weeks for delivery), these nose cones have helped my breathing with a deviated septum. I’m having dreams every night, which means I’ve been getting more REM sleep. This also means I’ve been getting into deep stages of NREM sleep in order to get there. I believe Stage 3 of NREM is where the body repairs and regrows tissues, builds bone and muscle and strengthens the immune system. Looking forward to using the dental appliance to assist my narrow airway to breathe even better while I sleep.

For relief of more severe nasal airway obstruction, the Sinus Cones are suggested. They are slightly firmer (although still soft), and so, do a better job of holding the airway open when it is obstructed by a more severely deviated septum. That said please note that nasal polyps are an entirely different type of obstruction. Usually nasal polyps require surgery to remove them. Occasionally we help relieve nasal polyps. More typically, you will need to consult an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist for relief of nasal polyposis.

Using your sizing chart, my thumb print was right on the line between medium and large. Tried the large first – slightly too big. Then ordered the medium size which fit much better. I decided not to exchange the large, in case I wanted to try them again later. These soft cones are comfortable to wear, and really do make a difference in my ability to breathe through my nose instead of leaving my mouth open all night. I’ve just been diagnosed with severe sleep apnea, and will go through the overnight sleep test shortly. I will ask if I can use these cones during the test.

I suffer from extremely loud snoring, so far they seem to be working but hard to tell as I am sleeping…hahaha. My girlfriend hasn’t noticed me snoring (she used to wake up every night), except for a few times and that was most likely due to them falling out. While I love your product, I am baffled at how a product can be ordered while it is out of stock. I ordered two pair of nose cones and one pair of sport nose cones. I never received any notification about a back order at any time throughout ordering or while my order was in transit being shipped to me. The cones are OK for comfort but don’t help open the airway further except in the front part of the nose, so they do not help with obstruction further back from night-time swelling of the turbinates.
Also if ordered outside the US there is a $14+ shipping fee and Sanostec order you to follow the delivery tracking from then on. 1 The delivery tracking eventually said delivered but it was NOT delivered, which caused me hassle. Turned out it was delivered to local post office, not to me yet! 2. There was an additional fee to pay for customs + a handling fee because the customs was due (£11.63). Sanostec should pay the customs in advance. Or at the VERY least make it clear in advance that a customs AND handling would need to be paid by me. These 2 bits of plastic cost me a fortune

Recovering from deviated septum surgery. One side is still slightly blocked. The nose cone is working perfectly to help widen the blocked passage. Comfortable, easy to use. No bothersome strips that stick or irritate my skin.

The cones are comfortable, and the fit is as specified in the guide posted on the site and included with the cones themselves. The device stays in place relatively well throughout night’s sleep. That being said, the improvement was marginal at best. I snore nearly every night, and have tried many OTC options. None really offer a dramatic difference if any at all, these cones included. Obviously your mileage may vary. Lastly, $27 (price to include shipping) for just two pairs of cones which have a limited lifetime (the box specifies around a month to a month and a half of nightly use) seems excessive to me personally, though may be sensible enough for others. At that price point, the cones may be worth a single try, but I don’t see myself ordering again; else seeking cheaper comparable alternatives on massive online retail site (you know which). We often think of partial obstructive apnea as occurring due to the tounge or oral palette. I had several sleep studies and a failed surgery to correct a mild deviated septum and enlarged turbinates. I also purchased a custom oral device for a grand, and it hurt my TMJ. Pills don’t help obstruction, only turn one into a zombie. After 7 years of no advice, bad advice, and wrong turns, I have discovered a key to really feeling better. Interesting to note: my chronic morning sinus drainage problem disappeared after the first night. It seems having narrow nasal passages actually triggers chronic nasal drainage due to the irritation caused by the struggle to breathe. The test- can you inhale through each nasal passage without it collapsing or being blocked? If so you may want to try the nasal cones. I am considering getting the hidden day use ones to see how that improves my well-being.

The product looks nice and well made but I’m like Goldilocks, nothing fits. The medium is too big and the small, while they fit snugly, they don’t stay in for the duration of the night. Oh well!

At first they worked great but slipped away overnight. IMPORTANT: They need to be blue or green pastel so you can actually see them when they fall out. I’d have to play where’s the cones in my bed or on the floor several minutes every morning. Over the past couple of days I can’t seem to put them far enough up my nose to be able to breathe. I have very pinched shut nostrils. VERY IMPORTANT: It would be more helpful on the website to have a copy of the sizing chart found on the side of the product box. We have no access to the official sizing chart until the cones arrive. That doesn’t really work for the customers.

My sleep apnea dentist introduced me the nose cones. The minute she had me put them in my nose I could tell I could breath so much better. I have wondered how they would be in the same design as the white cones. I tried using them attached, but finally separated them. Being attached just didn’t work. They are not as firm, so not so noticeable when wearing, very comfortable. With them seperated, I lose at least 1 during the night. I like the little nose clip on the white ones. With the use of the cones, I feel like I’m getting a deeper sleep as well as getting more sleep during the night. I don’t use Flonase or Vicks any more at night. No regrets in buying these.

I’ve tried many different different nighttime breathing products and Max-Air Nose Cones have been my go-to for almost 5 years now. I only need one nostril opened (deviated septum) so I separate the cones and use one at a time. Each one lasts around a month, so I get about 4 months with each package. $7 a month for being able to breathe at night is well worth it. They stay in my nose really well until they start to flatten towards the end of their life. That’s how I know to switch to a new one. They are very comfortable and soft to wear all night. Sometimes I even forget to take it out after waking up. I would highly recommend these if you have any sort of trouble breathing at night.

I bought the Max-Air Nose Cones on the advice of my sleep doctor, and am happy with them. I wear an oral appliance and hope to get rid my nighttime oxygen by wearing these.
I find them comfortable to wear and the only ‘complaint’ I have to date is the need to soak them in hydrogen peroxide every day. That and the fact that they need to be replaced every 6 weeks. But it’s still cheaper than renting an oxygen concentrator, and much more convenient to travel with….
So far I have worn them as they came, but tonight I am going to separate them and see if I can get a slightly better fit with them not being attached to each other.
